Training and support
It is often suggested that only a third of an organisation’s internet spending should go to hardware and software, and that the rest should go to training and support. Training is essential to an effective use of internet technology in your organisation; without it staff will waste substantial time and money.
Training should be an integral part of your internet plan, and of your budget. Technology training should be a part of your general plan for staff training. See the Planning section for a guide to the planning process.
Figure in the cost of relief staff in your calculation of training costs. Make sure you arrange time for training into the work plans of your staff. It's hard for people to be enthused about training when it means they have to work all weekend to do the work they missed while they were at a training session.
